Yesterday, the Running Lobos from SFJH competed in the Nebo District Cross Country Finals in Payson.  All junior highs in the district participated in the meet.

The boys’ team came in with a strong fourth place finish.  Tanner Olsen, Wyatt Evans, and Jordon Scott were our top finishers.  Nice work gentlemen!

The girls finished seventh in the meet.  While this might seem like a disappointing showing, the girls’ team showed they possess poise and sportsmanship to an extraordinary degree.  (See story, Winning Isn’t the Most Important Thing)

The students did a fabulous job during the weekend competition reports Ms. Holly.  Kelina Anderson and Meg Nelson won second place for their Duo Scene.  The SFJH Large Ensemble received third place.

Overall, the SFJH Shakespeare Team took the second place Sweepstakes Award.  This prize is based on the overall point total of the team as a whole.  Fabulous!

The Disappearing Dollar Answer

This mystery is an excellent example of why it is important to read things carefully - in math and in other subjects.  The trick here are the words "plus the $2 tip for the waiter".  Instead of adding the $2 ({plus the $2 tip"), you should subtract it. Think about it.  subtract that $2 and you get $25, which is the amount the restaurant got.  Each friend got $1 and the waiter got $2.
