You May Not Know It, But Your Cell Phone has Almost Certainly Been Hacked

Submitted by david.thacker on

Do you think a phone could hear you, see you, or find you?

Smartphones are like a spy. Imagine the person you are most scared of. They can now have access to your personal information, see what you have been doing the past week, and find your location. They know a lot more about you than anyone would like. That person knows you through your phone. That phone makes it able for that person to track you, hear you, and see you.

How often do you use your phone?

Are You Aware Of How Dirty You Cell Phone Is?

Submitted by david.thacker on

Have you ever sat down and thought about all the places you take your phone? Such as the bathroom, the mall, the fair? All these places have tons of germs, and when you take your phone with you to these places, you get them dirty.

For example, let's say you take your phone with you to the bathroom. You might not mean to, but chances are you're getting E. coli on your phone. This is a germ that comes most commonly from poop.

Mrs. Harmers 9th grade World Civilizations classes got to experience  World War 1 trench life.  Students built “trenches” in the classroom, learned about the extreme conditions soldiers dealt with within the trenches during the war, and watched The Christmas Truce.

The unit culminated with students having a paper battle while avoiding “no man’s land”!

Are You Addicted To Your Phone?

Submitted by david.thacker on

How much time do you spend on your phone? Do you think you're addicted to your phone? Phone addiction has become a big problem. People are becoming “attached” to their phones.

G. Thayer wrote in his article, “Researchers from three universities–the University of Missouri, University of Oklahoma, and Indiana University–devised a study in which they tricked 40 iPhone users into temporarily giving up their phones before completing a puzzle.

Honors Society News

Submitted by david.thacker on

On Monday a few of the Spanish Fork Junior High Honors Society members drove up to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake to take fleece blankets. There were 21 blankets that the Honors Society has been tying the edges on since February. Along with taking the blankets those students who went, also got a tour of the Huntsman Cancer Institute. It was a cool experience, and the workers at the facility were very grateful for the blankets.  They will be given to the patients at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Honors Society is a great opportunity to get out and help the community!

Would You Trade Your Family For a Screen?

Submitted by david.thacker on

Imagine it is Friday night, your family’s activity night. First, you play a game, then watch a movie, and then you enjoy milkshakes. You are ready to start, but everyone is on their phone. “Are we going to start yet?” You ask your mother. No response.

That familiar sight of children, teenagers, and adults on mobile phones is seen in every town and city in America, and the epidemic is growing. Younger citizens are receiving mobile phones and tablets, and family communication drops drastically.
