Cameron Campbell has recently been notified by the National Geographic Society that he is one of the semifinalists eligible to compete in the state level competition of the 2017 National Geographic State Bee. The contest will be held at Thanksgiving Point on Friday, March 31, 2017.

This is the second level of the National Geographic Bee competition, which is now in its 29th year. School Bees were held in schools with 4th through 8th grade students throughout the state to determine each school champion. School champions then took a qualifying test, which they submitted to the National Geographic Society. Cameron’s test results qualified him to be among the 100 top-scoring students within our state to compete in the State Bee.

If Cameron wins the state level competition, he will receive $100, the National Geographic Concise Atlas of the World, 4th Edition and a trip to Washington, D.C., to represent our state in the National Geographic Bee Championship to be held at National Geographic Society headquarters, May 14-17, 2017.  He would then have a chance to compete for a $50,000 college scholarship.  Best wishes and good luck to our school champion, Cameron Campbell, in our state National Geographic Bee competition!
