Congratulations to Mr. Ferrin! He has been awarded Faculty Teacher of the Month for November. There were quite a few amazing nominations sent in for him. Here they are:

Eric Ferrin is always willing to help with computer issues--Brad Dayton

Eric Ferrin because he runs around solving all our computer issues and still manages to teach his classes--Katrina Davenport

I'd nominate Eric Ferrin. I let him use my room for a short cut, and he must pass through 5-10 times a day going to help faculty with IT issues. He teaches two classes simultaneously during 2nd period, and he bends over backwards to help students. I've heard him going step by step through math problems until students get it. Add to that 4-H and the help he gives drama during the musical production and I think there's a guy who deserves to be recognized--Rillene Nielsen

I once thought that all teachers were expendable. When one left or retired, just bring in another warm body. I mistakenly thought that way until I had the opportunity to work with Eric Ferrin. I can't imagine SFJHS without him. While he could be working in Silicon Valley making hundreds of millions--here he is down with us mere mortals helping students and colleagues succeed--James Hubbard

As you can see, Mr. Ferrin really helps out our school. While The Lobo Howl interviewed him, they learned some interesting things. His favorite color is a light pastel blue because in some ways it reminds him of Linus' blanket. He loves to eat fried chicken, even though he shouldn't eat it too often. A favorite activity of his is playing games with his children and taking them on trips. One of his favorite quotes is, “There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people: Religion, Politics and the Great Pumpkin”. Growing up in the town of State College, Pennsylvania, he went to State College Area Junior High School and then on to State College Area High School. Later he went to BYU earning a double major in Computer Science Teaching and Math Education. Thank you Mr. Ferrin for all of your hard work to make our school a better place!
