Mr. Youd will be new to Spanish Fork Junior High next year and will be teaching math. We asked Mr. Youd to introduce himself and this is what he had to say:

"I grew up in Lake Shore and now live in the great town of Spanish Fork. I attended schools in Spanish Fork from elementary through my high school years. I graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 2003 and Utah Valley University in 2011. I am currently in the Masters of Education Program at Southern Utah University and will graduate this coming spring of 2018.

I am going into my 7th year as an educator. I have been teaching 6th grade throughout my teaching career and I am very excited to be teaching 7th and 8th grade math next year. I love making math real, and teaching students how it really connects to the world we live in. I believe students need to see how subjects apply in their own lives so they understand the importance of learning. I love being a teacher! I enjoy my time with the students and teaching kids to believe in themselves and how to be themselves as well.  In my free time I love being with my family. I'm lucky to have an amazing wife, Amanda, and two awesome little kids. I love playing all sports and I'm slightly competitive as well. Some of my favorite activities are team roping, hunting and fishing.  One of my dreams in life is to hold the Utah State Angler Record for catching the largest catfish. I'm still working on that goal but I know someday I will reach it!"
