I'm excited to be a Lobo again.

After teaching 8 years in Payson and then taking a 10-year sabbatical to raise lots of great kids, I returned to teaching at SFJHS 5 years ago. But because of some schedule changes, I moved to DFJHS a year later. I love to teach the older junior high students. I love their stage of life. I love to push them to deeper thinking. I love the literature. So looking at the changes coming in the district, I knew when an opening for SFJHS opened, I needed to take the opportunity to move back. I am thrilled to be part of this great faculty again, and I look forward to working with a great English team--a team who taught me much in one year of rubbing elbows!

If you were to ask my husband to describe me, one of the first few descriptions would include ADHD; I don't sit still well. I am always working on something: art, writing, reading, games, puzzles, etc. One of my favorite things to do is to cheer for my kiddos in whichever activities they're involved in. They have learned not to tell me I embarrass them, or I'll just cheer even louder. I have 6 boys and 1 girl--all involved in either athletics, theater, dance, or music. My 4 oldest children have already roamed the halls and sat in these desks at SFJHS.

If you were to ask my students to describe me, they would say passionate. I love what I teach. I love English for the depth of thinking encouraged by the exploration of literature. I love watching the light bulbs blink and then shine as students make new connections. I love it when a student says, "That was fun!" when we've been learning sentence structure. I am creative and slightly crazy, so I have a good time when teaching. I love celebrating birthdays--even with 14-15-year-old kids who want to believe they're too old to have attention on their special days.

I love teaching. I love English. I love being part of the Lobo team.
