AWARDS ASSEMBLY
Our annual awards assembly will be held on Tuesday, May 21 from 9:00 am - 11:45 am in the Cafeteria/Little Theater. Parent invitations to the awards assembly will come through email this year and not through the paper mail system. Please be sure that your email is current on your student's SIS account.
YEARBOOK SALES
Parents and Students: due to a change in registration procedures at the beginning of the year, many students have not purchased a yearbook yet. If you would like to purchase one, please pay $30 to Mrs. Hall in the front office as soon as possible. If you are unsure if you purchased one, please check the list posted in the front office. ALL fees and fines must be paid by Wednesday, May 23 in order for students to receive their yearbook that day.
LUNCH MONEY DUE
Parents: The end of the school year is approaching and if your child has a negative lunch balance please pay the balance ASAP!!! Please, don't leave it to the last minute. Students will not be able to go to Lagoon, or receive their yearbook until the balance is paid in full. Direct any questions to our lunch clerk @ 801-798-7080, Monday - Friday 8am-1pm.
LAGOON DAY - MAY 23RD
On Monday all students received a Lagoon Day 2019 Parent Information and Permission Slip form and a few instructions from their 7th period teacher. This has all the information needed to be prepared for an exciting day at Lagoon. If you would like your child to attend, please return the signed permission slip with a non-refundable bus fare payment of $20.00. The students will purchase their ticket at the door for $35.00 each. UVU SUMMER READING SKILLS AND SPEED READING PROGRAMS
UVU is offering Reading Skills and Speed Reading Programs this summer. Students will make substantial gains in comprehension and learn to read twice as fast. Students learn the best way to take notes, study for tests, and read fiction, non-fiction, and textbooks. Information sheets are available in the SFJHS counseling office or by calling 1-800-978-9596.
DRESS CODE
We are seeing more dress code violations among the students. Typical and frequent violations include shirts that show the midriff or tank tops, jeans with large holes well above the knee, and short shorts/skirts.
Nebo Board Policy states, “Skirts, dresses, and shorts must be at least mid-thigh length when the student is sitting.” Please take time to review the Nebo District Dress Code Policy for clarification. Thanks for your support!
STARS ASSEMBLY
Do you have a talent you want to share with the school? Then come try out for the STARS assembly! Auditions for the assembly will be on Tuesday, May 7 and Wednesday, May 8 from 3-4 in the band room. Sign up sheets are in the office. The STARS assembly will be on Friday, May 17.
2019-2020 STUDENT COUNCIL
Applications for the 2019-2020 SFJH Student Council will be available in the front office beginning on Monday, May 6. Applications are due by Monday, May 13. Student council is a great opportunity to learn and demonstrate leadership skills in our school as we plan dances, activities, and encourage school spirit. Completed applications must be turned into to either Mrs. Goates in room 47 or Miss Dannelly in room 42.
SFJHS PTA
If there is anyone that would like to be involved with PTA at Spanish Fork Jr. High for the 2018-2019 school year, we would love to hear from you. We are currently filling some committee positions for next year so please email sfjhspta [at] gmail.com now to let us know and we will see what spots are open.
