Veterans Day Project
For the Veteran's Day Assembly this year, we are trying something new. We want to put together a slideshow of photos with family members of our students who are veterans (parents, siblings, grandparents, etc.). We have set up a Gmail account to receive photos. It is sfjhsveterans2016 [at] gmail.com (sfjhsveterans2016[at]gmail[dot]com) Please include the following in your email: (1) the photo attached, (2) the student’s name, (3) the name of the veteran in the photo and relationship to the student, and (4) which branch of the military they served in.
PTA Reflections Due This Friday!
All students are invited and encouraged to participate in this year’s Reflections contest. The theme is: What Is Your Story? Entries are due by Friday, October 14th - Pick up an application in the front office. Contest categories include: Dance Choreography – Film Production – Literature – Music Composition – Photography – Visual Arts. Do something amazing this year; participate in Reflections! Play Intramural Basketball!
Basketball begins Wednesday, Oct. 12th - Remember intramural sports last about two weeks and are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays right after school from 2:45pm - 3:45pm unless otherwise specified. The next intramural sport this year is BASKETBALL! It will begin This Wednesday October 12th. Gather a team and sign-up ahead of time with Coach Johnson or Coach Harmer or just come and play - meet in the gym.
Lobos in Action
Last week our Shakespeare team traveled to Cedar City to compete against many other junior highs and middle schools from around the state in the annual Shakespeare Competition sponsored by the Utah Shakespeare Festival. A big congratulation goes out to them for placing in the top three in multiple events. Our amazing students took 3rd place in Large Group, 2nd place in Singles, 2nd place in Trio Dance and 3rd place in Large Group Dance. Please note that you are invited to watch their award winning performances yourself, tomorrow evening at 7:30pm here at SFJHS.
