Parents, Students and Friends –

 Update SIS/ASPIRE

We encourage you to please check your contact information in SIS/ASPIRE and update it as needed. The information you enter is used to email home the Lobo Update, as well as your official mailing address and emergency contact information. Please check to be sure that phone numbers and emergency contacts are current for the 2015-16 school year. To do this, simply login to SIS/ASPIRE at: https://sisweb2.nebo.edu/Login/ or from http://www.nebo.edu/parents Nebo’s parent homepage. Click on your student and scroll to the bottom where the contacts are located. To edit the information, click the edit button in the upper-right corner of the contacts area. If you have never logged-in before you will need to sign up for a parent/guardian account, signing up for an account is fast and simple. Just follow the SIS/ASPIRE link and click “request a user name” below the login box. You will need to have your student’s ID number (lunch number) and birthday. Once you have created this account you can update/edit contact information as well as check your student’s grades and attendance.

 Cross Country 5K Invitation

Our Cross Country team invites all SFJHS parents and students to join them tomorrow, Oct. 8th for a 5K fitness run. Parents and students should meet at the track at 3:00pm to join in.  By way of reminder - Cross Country Team members need to wear their uniforms for the team picture.

 PTA News

Thank you for supporting our Scholastic Book Fair.  We love to see students excited about reading. We were able to give over $700 worth of books to our school classrooms and library.  Because of the money you spent, we earned $730 more for future book and school supply purchases. We truly appreciate you supporting our school in this way.  We also had over 20 volunteers help us run the show.  Our PTA volunteers are awesome; they have spent over 100 hours helping in the school in September. Thanks!!  Watch for our spring book fair in February.

Good Luck - Golf, Girls Tennis, Cross Country

The three fall sports are winding down their seasons with District Finals this week and next - The Girls Tennis team competes tomorrow and Friday at Springville HS, Golf will finish Monday at Hobble Creek and Cross Country’s final is Tuesday at Diamond Fork. Go Lobos!

 Lobos in Action

The FFA traveled to Snow College for judging competitions on Tuesday, Oct 6th.  Spanish Fork Jr. High had 3 teams competing. Each competition consisted of evaluating classes of animals based on criteria that are valued in the eyes of producers all over the country. All of our competitors did an awesome job! Our livestock team (Brooke Sorensen, Jessica Olsen, Porter Olsen, Tanner Voorhees) won 1st place overall out of 49 teams that included 8-12th graders!!  Tanner Voorhees was high individual and received a $300 scholarship to Snow College.  He was also the youngest student in the competition. Jessica Olsen was 2nd high individual and received a $200 scholarship to Snow College.
