Parents, Students, and Friends –

CANVAS PARENT ACCESS APP

A Canvas Parent app is available for mobile devices. Parents can sign up as an observer in Canvas and link their account to their students’ accounts so they can see assignment details and due dates, announcements, assignment submissions from their students, and feedback from the teachers. Observers can view the course content, but cannot participate in the course. Follow the link to the school’s website for instructions to install and use Canvas. CANVAS: Parent Login Instructions. The Canvas login is also on the Parent and Student Information page of the school’s website.

COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS

We have started our CCR's (College and Career Readiness Plans) with our 8th grade students. We will be calling students down to meet up with their parents and counselors. This is a great time for our students to start thinking about what they want to do in the future.

TERM 1 BY THE NUMBERS

Our current enrollment is 1254 students

902 students earned a spot on the honor roll. This is the highest number of student we have ever had! Last year, first term we 825 students earned that spot.

399 with 4.0 Academic Excellence

357 with 3.7 or above, High Honors

144 with 3.5 or above, Honors

Thank you to the students for their hard work and to all of the parents, teachers, and support staff that support them!

DRESS CODE REMINDER

The idea behind a dress code is that appropriate student dress and grooming promotes an effective learning environment free from unnecessary disruption or distraction. We are seeing an increase in jeans with holes above the knee. The school policy states “no torn pants above the knee”. We do not send students home for a dress code violation. If a student’s clothing or grooming interferes with the normal education process, he/she will be asked to change whatever is in question.
