Report Cards for 1st Term
Please be aware that report cards and Honor Roll Certificates for 1st term were sent home with students today.

4-H Afterschool Clubs
It’s time to sign up for November 4-H Afterschool Clubs.  This month we are offering Sewing, Paper Crafts and 3D Computer Art and Games Clubs.     Pick up your enrollment form and register in the main office.   Clubs began on Monday November 3rd.  The cost is $5.00 per club if you have already enrolled in 4-H this year.  Otherwise it is $10.00 for the first club and $5.00 thereafter.    Don’t delay, sign up today and tell a friend.  Pick up your forms today.   See our 4-H calendar at http://sfjhs.nebo.edu/content/4h

Student Depression and Anxiety Seminar
Nebo School District Counseling announces Shara Mitchell CMHC from Daybreak family therapy offering a presentation entitled “What Were You Thinking - How Depression & Anxiety Makes Children Think Differently” This free presentation is intended for all parents and teachers of students who struggle with depression or anxiety and will focus on detecting and assisting these students. It will be held November 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the Nebo School District Board Room.

Reflections
The National PTA sponsors the reflections program which allows students in all grades and of varying abilities to be involved in the arts. This year students reflected on the theme: "The World Would Be a Better Place If....." in the categories of Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts. We had great support from teachers and staff and many students participated in this wonderful program. Those who received an Award of Excellence at the school level will now move on to be judged at a regional level. Here is the list of winners in each category:
Middle School Division Grades 6th - 8th

It's amazing to see what our SFJHS students come up with when they have a theme and their creative abilities are unleashed. Kudos to the many talented students at SFJHS that participated in this year’s Reflections contest and good luck to those that will move on to the regional level.

iMac Grant Money Received
A big thanks goes out to our wonderful PTA that funded Ms. Holley’s grant request for $500 and allowed for a matching grant of $500 from the Nebo Foundation to purchase iMac computers for the film and video production classes. These machines will allow our students to achieve professional level results right here at Spanish Fork Jr. High.

Wrestling
Students 7th - 9th grade are invited to join the wrestling team. Practices will begin Monday, Nov 10th in the upper gym. Talk with Mr. Beardall for more information and the practice times.

9th Grade Basketball Team
Tryouts for both the girls and boys 9th grade basketball team will be held, starting Monday, November 10th. There will be an informational meeting for all interested 9th grade students on Thursday, Nov. 6th afterschool in the gym.  If you have any questions or concerns contact Coach Beyer or Coach Johnson.
