Bs, Cs, AND As FOR THE HOLIDAYS

We want to emphasize how important it is for students to maintain good grades and one way is to work for Bs, Cs, AND As FOR THE HOLIDAYS. We are reminding all students to work on their missing assignments, retake any qualifying tests and quizzes, and finish any new homework on time to alleviate stress during the holidays and to be ready for the remaining two weeks Term 2 when we return to school in January. Please check Aspire for missing work in classes and encourage students to use the remaining two weeks before the break to turn in work ASAP.

ALC FIELD TRIP

9th grade students are invited to attend a field trip to the Advanced Learning Center in Salem on Tuesday, December 17th from 9:15 to 11:30. Students will tour the ALC and learn about all the fun classes you can take there for college credit. Permission slips are available in the counseling office. They are due by Monday, December 16th. We have limited space so sign up soon to guarantee a spot!

1-2-3-4 LET’S HAVE A PENNY WAR!

It’s on! Penny Wars have started. Every Christmas, we’re delighted to participate in Warm the Soles of Kids program in partnership with Nebo Credit Union (NCU). We raise money and donate it to NCU so they can provide new shoes for economically disadvantaged children in our own community. Last year we raised over $2,000 for this cause. Our Junior Honor Society sponsors Penny Wars each year to accomplish this act of service.

It works like this:

1-Everyone's 2nd period class collects all money EXCEPT pennies for their class.

2-Each day is different denomination. WED is DIMES, THURS is QUARTERS, FRI is PAPER MONEY AND CHECKS. The war ends on Friday, December 13.

3-Put your pennies in other teachers' jars and everything else in your teacher's jar.

Much of the money helps our OWN school and Nebo Credit Union uses the remainder to help other children in Nebo and throughout Utah.

The winning class gets a GRAND PRIZE! So, please donate - many classes have very creative ways to get motivated. We can't wait to see just what we can do with 1,260 students and over 100 employees! We can be a force for great good! Good luck everyone!

LUNCH CHECK OUTS

Our students are very important to us and we take our responsibility seriously. For safety and security reasons, parents must excuse IN PERSON, ONLY THEIR STUDENT, during the lunch period. Students may not be checked out anyone other than those authorized to do so. Students are expected to return to school on time for their after lunch class.

NEW AFTER SCHOOL CLUB

We have a new After School Club starting Dec. 13th, Girls Who Code.  It will be every for the rest of this year with Mrs. Mendonsa. Come learn more about coding.  We meet in Room 46 after school.

LOST AND FOUND

Currently, there is a table at the front of the main office with lost and found items. It will be out for the remainder of this week. If your student is missing something, check this table for items that have been turned in. Those items not claimed by December 13 will be donated.

DRAMA CLASS PLAYS -- ROUND 2!

It's Play Time Again! The Drama 1 classes will be performing their fun fractured fairy tales on Friday, December 13th in the Little Theatre. Performances begin at 7:00 pm. Come see them all! The drama 1 students can’t wait to showcase all their hard work for you. Come have fun with us on Friday in the Little Theatre. The show's even FREE!
