Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Friends:

FFA WEEK

Spanish Fork FFA is celebrating along with chapters around the country, the amazing accomplishments of members, teachers, and the industry of agriculture. Our FFA members are sponsoring dress up days throughout the week. See the calendar below or our Facebook page for more details.

GIRLS WHO CODE CLUB

The Girls Who Code Club program is a free program for girls in grades 6-12 that provides engaging project-based activities.

Club girls join a safe and supportive environment of peers & role models and learn to see themselves as computer scientists. Beyond the Club, girls can tap into an alumni network of tens of thousands of girls across the country that is using computer science to solve problems they care about.

Club girls learn the concepts of loops, variables, conditionals, and functions that form the basis for all programming languages — whether they want to build a website, an app, or a robot. Club girls work in teams to design and build a Computer Science “CS” Impact Project that solves real world problems they care about through code.

If you are interested in learning more or joining this club, send an email to heather.mendonsa [at] nebo.edu (heather[dot]mendonsa[at]nebo[dot]edu). Club girls will meet during Pack Time one or two days each week.

PTA BOOK FAIR SUCCESSES

FROM OUR PTA: The PTA loves our teachers and staff!  During February’s book fair we gave out "gift cards" for each.  Thank you SFJHS for all you do for our kids!

The PTA loves our kids, too!  Because we had such amazing support at our fall book fair, we decided to give out "gift certificates" to some students!  We had a drawing and one kid from each English class received a $5 gift certificate good for a book!  As a result, 30 certificates were redeemed.  The PTA is thrilled to have more books in the hands of our students!

Also, because of the success of our FALL BOOK FAIR,  we were able to buy additional books for the English teachers’ classroom libraries. And, just over $1,000 was donated at this book fair!

With our extra scholastic dollars we earn from each book fair we hope to be able to do some fun things like this again at our next fair in the fall.

Thank you parents for the support you give the PTA and our school by purchasing books at our book fairs!
