 4-H Afterschool Clubs

This month we are offering two awesome activities - volleyball and Mission to Mars. Mission to Mars is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activity that teaches kids how to design a full mission to Mars. It includes designing the buildings for their Martian colony, the rockets to get them there and scientific missions to explore the Red Planet. Once the planning is complete the club has the opportunity to use their teamwork and problem solving skills as they put their mission design to the test. Volleyball is now underway and runs every Tuesday and Thursday in the gym. Mission to Mars is scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning on March 9th. The cost is $5.00 per club if you have already enrolled in 4-H this year.  Otherwise it is $10.00 for the first club and $5.00 thereafter. Don’t delay, sign up today and tell a friend.  Pick up enrollment forms in the office.

Follow Up for 9th Grade High School Visit

Today all 9th graders visited Spanish Fork High School for Sophomore Orientation.  They received important registration information and forms.  These forms need to be completed and returned TOMORROW Thursday, February 26th, with parent signatures.  The counselors from the high school will be in our buildingtomorrow to help students put their class requests into the computer.  This will be done during their social studies class.  If your student is in 9th grade Honors Math they need to return the paper work to their Math teacher. This is only for class requests.  High school class registration will be done online by you and your student starting sometime in March.  For questions about open-enrollment go to the website:  http://www.nebo.edu/information/open_enrollment

 Nebo District Chess Tournament

Nebo School District is sponsoring the Utah K12 Chess Tournament to be held Saturday, February 28th at Cherry Creek Elementary in Springville.  An informational flyer and registration is now available at www.utahchessk12.com/nebo.  The cost is $15 and you must register by Feb 26; lunch will be available for purchase. No registration or payment will be accepted at the door so be sure to register now!

7th Grade CTE Students Will Bake for Good

Parents - look for information coming home soon with your 7th grade student that will explain a fun activity next week that allows your student to bake bread - some to keep and some to donate to charity.  Lobos in Action

Good job NJHS for all the recycling at our school!  NJHS has taken on the assignment to make sure we are doing our part to recycle. Once a week during Pack Time members of NJHS collect the paper waste from the recycle bins in each classroom and deposit it in the outside bins to await pickup. Thanks NJHS.
