SFJHS to Have a New Principal
The Nebo School Board of Education recently appointed Mr. Matt Christensen as the principal of Spanish Fork Junior High School beginning next school year. Although we are very sad to say goodbye to Mr. Dwight Liddiard who will move to the district offices next year, we want to extend a warm welcome to Mr. Christensen and look forward to his service. School Musical - Curtains Young@Part
SFJHS Theater Arts is proud to present this year’s annual spring production, Curtains Young@Part. We have the unique and amazing opportunity to beta test this brand new Jr. High adaptation of the hit Broadway musical, which will be released to other schools after our performance. The plot is set in the brassy, bright, and promising year of 1959. Boston’s Colonial Theatre is host to the opening night performance of a new musical. When the leading lady mysteriously dies on stage the entire cast & crew are suspects. Enter a local detective, who just happens to be a musical theatre fan! Mystery, Comedy, Romance, and craziness ensue as the detective does his job and tries to revive the show. The performance dates are: March 23rd, 24th, 26th and 28th; cost is $5 per person or $25 for a family - The evening performances will be March 23rd, 24th, and 28th at 7:00pm with a matinee on Saturday, March 26th at 2:00pm. Come enjoy a terrific production!
Annual PTA March Madness Fund Raiser
What is March without a little basketball Madness? Join us for our SFJHS PTA sponsored MARCH MADNESS FUNDRAISER, March 28th - April 1st! Envelopes will be sent home next week for your student(s) to return during our fundraiser. Please return the parent-signed envelope to your 2nd period homeroom class with a minimum donation of $5 or more per student. There is also the potential to match the money raised through the Nebo Foundation so every donation counts! We do only one fundraiser per year and this is it! 100% of the money raised stays at our school to help with technology upgrades which benefits every student and teacher. Our funds will go towards anything from Chromebooks, Promethean boards, audio systems, projectors and more so return your signed envelope with your donation of $5 or more per student to your 2nd period homeroom teacher and help make this fundraiser a success! Join us for a little friendly competition. Our student body will be split into 4 total teams with coaches so let's see where your team ranks. It's almost tip-off time so join in the fun and thank you for supporting SFJHS and the PTA!
Be a Part of Something Fun - Participate in Intramurals
Intramural sports are for ALL students; 7th, 8th and 9th grade, both girls and boys and there is never a cost to participate. Pickleball is our next intramural sport and it is begins on Monday, March 21st. To join a team and be part of Pickleball talk with Ms. Denter or Ms. Rogers or just show up to the activity and tell the teacher you want to join in. Intramurals are held every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday right after school. Please come out and participate in this fun opportunity!
Lobos in Action
Our Advanced Orchestra performed very well at the State Junior High Orchestra festival and received Superior ratings. They spent a great deal of time preparing for this event and we are pleased with the performance. We performed the same music at the Nebo Orchestra Assessment last week where we also received a 'superior' rating. Way to go Advanced Orchestra!
