Parents, Students and Friends –

 Stand4Kind

Last week was HOPE week and we had a very successful and fun week. One of the main activities was the assembly with the band Foreign Figures. As part of the assembly students were asked to report acts of kindness at www.stand4kind.com  for the chance to win cool prizes. Students can also visit www.foreignfigures.com and use promo code “stand4kind” for a free music download.

 Sage Testing Window Now Open

By way of information to students and parents - the SAGE testing window has opened and testing will begin soon and continue through the end of May. Students will participate in the Language Arts, Math and Science portions of the test. We invite all students to get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast so that you can be at your best as you show the academic progress that you have made this year.

Thanks for Participating in the March Madness Fundraiser

The PTA would like to thank our SFJHS community for showing their support during this last week. Just over $1,500 was raised for the PTA.  All money will be used for PTA programs that benefit students including a grant to the school for technology.

 Asking for Parent Help

The PTA is requesting parents/guardian volunteers to help with teacher appreciation week here at SFJHS. It will run from Monday, April 10th through Friday, April 14th. If you would be willing to help out providing treats and such for teachers during this week please contact Laura Olsen at this email address: olsen.laura4 [at] gmail.com (olsen[dot]laura4[at]gmail[dot]com)  Thanks in advance for supporting our awesome teachers here at SFJHS!

Spring Break and Spring Related Issues

Please be aware that Spring Break is coming up next week, April 3rd - 7th with school resuming Monday, April 10th.  At this time of year with trees budding, flowers blooming and sunny warm spring weather we have found it helpful to remind all our students of a couple of things that seem to increase in April and May. First, we remind everyone to please follow the school dress code and help us set the right academic tone and create a productive educational environment.  Second we remind students that, public displays of affection, like kissing, hand holding or amorous hugs are not allowed.  Again, the reason is to help maintain the right atmosphere where high levels of learning and socially appropriate interactions are the norm. Thank you students and parents for your help and support on these two issues
