 Need for Substitute Teachers

Parents: If you are interested in substitute teaching, please be aware that there is a real need for your help; at times substitute teaching positions remain unfilled here at SFJHS and across the district. So that you are aware, subs are able to choose the location and the dates of availability with no minimum commitment per month. If you would be willing to apply for a substitute teacher or technician position, please visit the Utah Kelly Educational Staffing webpage at http://www.kesutah.appone.com or send an email inquiry to5936 [at] kellyservices.com (5936[at]kellyservices[dot]com)

 Track Needs Volunteers

We are looking for community volunteers to help out with the track meet this Friday at Salem Hills High School beginning at 2:00pm. If you are able to help with this, please contact Esther Zacharias here at SFJHS. Thanks

 April 4-H Club

Attention students:  It’s time to sign up for April 4-H Afterschool.  This month we are offering a Quilting Club.  If you love to quilt or you just want to learn how to quilt we would love to have you join us for some quilting fun after school.  Pick up your enrollment form and register in the main office.   Clubs start the week that we return from Spring Break.  The cost is $5.00 per club ($10 if this is your first club.)  Don’t delay, sign up today and tell a friend.  Pick up your forms today.

 PTA Volunteers needed!

We are looking for great people who want to be involved in PTA at our school!  PTA has several positions and opportunities open for next year. The PTA General Membership Meeting will be held on April 13 at 10:00am to vote in the new board members.  Any member of the PTA is invited and encouraged to attend! Please contact Gaye Christiansen for more information at gayechristiansen [at] gmail.com (gayechristiansen[at]gmail[dot]com).

Spring Break and Weather Related Issues

Please be aware that Spring Break is coming up next week, April 6th - 10th with school resuming Monday, April 13th.  At this time of year with trees budding, flowers blooming and sunny warm spring weather we have found it helpful to remind all our students of a couple of things that seem to increase in April and May. First, we remind everyone to please follow the school dress code and help us set the right academic tone and create a productive educational environment.  Second we remind students that, public displays of affection, like hand holding or amorous hugs are not allowed.  Again, the reason is to help maintain the right atmosphere where high levels of learning and socially appropriate interactions are the norm. Thank you students and parents for your help and support on these two issues
