The program begins June 6th and will continue through August 18th, Monday through Friday, 11:30am to 1:00pm. Lunches will be served at the Spanish Fork City Center Library Park, 100 East 50 South. No registration is required. For more information contact Kerri Duncan at 801-887-1251 or kerrid [at] utahfoodbank.org (kerrid[at]utahfoodbank[dot]org)

 SFJHS Literary Magazines Published

Mrs. Betts’ 8th grade English honors classes have compiled two literary magazines comprised of 7th, 8th, and 9th grade writing. Students submitted their pieces, and the honors classes compiled the submissions, drew category pages (poetry, short stories, and essays), and found computer generated art that supported the writing. The magazines are ready to be shared with the public. Look for them in dentists’ offices, doctors’ offices, and businesses where patrons may have to wait for appointments.

 Last Day of School Information

Friday May 27th is the last day of school! No backpacks will be allowed in the building on Friday.  Students should bring only their yearbook and a pen to sign yearbooks this day. If a student brings a backpack it will need to be left in the office until school ends.  School will be released at 11:15a.m. please plan accordingly - HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!

 Extra Yearbooks

If your student didn’t buy a yearbook there were a few extras ordered.  They will be sold on a first come first serve basis until they are gone.  The cost is $30 and needs to be paid in the office to Mrs. Hall.

 Locker Cleanout

First Locker cleanout will be during Pack Time on Thursday, May 19th. Please plan to clean out and take home all items you won’t need for the last few days of school. On Tuesday May 24th during the last 10 minutes of school student will conduct final locker clean out.  Students will need to take absolutely everything home and won’t have locker access for the rest of the week.

 Library Summer Hours

All students are invited to use the library during the summer. It will be available on selected Wednesdays each month during summer break - June 8th, July 6th and Aug 3rd from 8:00am ‘till 3:00pm. Mrs. Wilson hopes to see you there!

Limited Number of Lagoon Bus Tickets Remain

Over 500 bus tickets have already been sold and fewer than 80 tickets remain. If you are interested in going to Lagoon be sure to purchase your bus ticket right away. Remember: Bus tickets cost $15 and should be paid for here at school in the office - entrance to Lagoon is $33 and will be purchased when you arrive at Lagoon or online at www.lagoonpark.com - enter Promo Code: nebo to receive the student price. Please be aware of the following criteria for Lagoon attendance: Citizenship grades cannot be an N or U in more than 1 class; all outstanding balances for lunch and/or other school fees must be paid; all detentions must be served. Check the lists outside the office to make sure you are eligible.

 If You Are Attending Lagoon

Wednesday, May 27th is Lagoon day - Buses will leave promptly at 8:00a.m. Please plan on arriving at school by 7:40a.m.  Because we have to pay the bus company for your student’s seat whether they go or not, refunds will not be available to those that miss the bus. In order to accurately account for each student, they will need to ride the same bus up and back.  On the bus ride up students will be informed that buses will leave Lagoon promptly at 3:30 p.m.  We estimate that we will be home between 4:30 and 5:00p.m.  Some parents have asked about picking up their own student at a prearranged time.  If you are planning on picking your student up at Lagoon rather than having them ride the bus home please provide a parent/guardian note, signed and dated, giving permission to your student to be released.  Students must give this note to the teacher as they board the bus here at SFJHS Wednesday morning so that we are aware of the situation.  Because of student safety concerns, only students that provide a written note will be permitted to be released and not ride the bus home.
