Parents, Students and Friends –

 PTA Memberships- Be Involved!

Parents and Students: It's not too late to support SFJHS PTA!  Your $5 membership directly supports a variety of student-centered activities at SFJHS - art and music events, book fairs, fundraisers, ribbon week, and more! - and encourages and enhances parental support of, and involvement in, student's educational experiences.  Stop by the office and pay in cash or check made payable to SFJHS PTA and receive a FREE discount card sponsored by local businesses that support PTA.

There are also many opportunities to Be Involved at SFJHS!  We are always looking for parents (and especially dads!) to chaperone dances and athletic events.  If interested, please contact sfjhspta [at] gmail.com (sfjhspta[at]gmail[dot]com).

 Book Fair

Our PTA sponsored book fair will be held September 28, 29, and 30 in the small faculty room by the Little Theater. In the mornings, it is open from 7:30 to 8 a.m. After school, Monday the 28th and Tuesday the 29th, it will be open from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. On Wednesday, the 30th, it will stay open through Parent Teacher Conferences, 2 to 7 p.m. All money earned is used to get more books for the school. Please come and support your students and teachers. Thanks!

 Intramurals

Once again we want to invite all students to be a part of our SFJHS Intramurals program. Intramurals will run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the year, rotating the sport played every 2-3 weeks. Games begin as soon as possible after school. Our next sport will be SOCCER and it will begin on Monday, September 21st.  Students that want to participate in soccer can visit with Mr. Hawkins or Mrs. Rogers to sign-up. We encourage all students to be involved in this no cost, extracurricular program.  Research has shown that students who are involved in extracurricular programs are more likely to have a higher G.P.A., a stronger sense of self and greater feelings of belonging with their peers.  We believe there are many benefits for students who participate, the best one being they have a lot of fun!

Student Drop-off and Pick-up Safety Concern

Because of ongoing safety concerns and some recent “close calls” as students exit cars and walk through traffic, we remind parents to please use the north or south parking lots for pick-up and drop-off. These parking lots are designed to facilitate a circular traffic pattern which makes using them as a drop off/pick up zone much safer. Your help with this important safety issue is appreciated.

 Picture Make-up Day

Monday, September 21st is picture retake day.  Any student that missed picture day (or that would like to have their school picture re-taken) should participate. Pictures are needed for student ID and to be in the year book. Purchasing a photo package is optional. Informational packets needed to purchase a picture package from Lifetouch are available in the front office. If you previously ordered a picture package but have not yet received it, please check with the front office.
