Time to Get Protected Against Seasonal Influenza!

Vaccinated students (and school personnel) are more likely to stay healthy and at the top of their game in school, in sports, and in their social lives. Last year 8% of students were absent during flu season (October-March) with flu or flu-like symptoms. It is important that students are able to attend as many days of school as possible, as missed days can negatively impact learning. If most students and school personnel are immunized, then those that are not (some cannot for health reasons) can be protected through “herd immunity". We encourage everyone to get a flu vaccine this fall. To get a seasonal influenza vaccine, visit your local health department or your regular healthcare provider.
