Mr. Eric Ferrin, a long-time teacher from Spanish Fork Junior High was recently honored with the award for Afterschool club leader of the year by Utah County 4-H.  Mr. Ferrin has volunteered to be a club leader for the 4-H Afterschool program every term since it began at Spanish Fork Jr. High.  He is currently in his fourth year of leading a club and that alone is worth mentioning.  Besides being a teacher here at Spanish Fork Junior High, Mr. Ferrin also has a large number of additional responsibilities such as taking care of the school’s computer needs, serving on the Community Council and the Accreditation Committee; he also volunteers to help with several extracurricular activities when other departments need him.  He is probably the busiest person on our staff yet he is always willing to help anyone in need.  He has been invaluable to us in our 4-H program.  He goes above and beyond just being a great club leader.  He has helped us with various technical needs and is key in helping us run a successful parent showcase. His whole family gets involved and it’s great.  His clubs are always among our most successful.  He runs a 3-D Computer Art and Animation Club and a Roller Coaster Tycoon Club.  The kids learn a lot of technical skills as well as how to run a successful business.  You can always find Mr. Ferrin interacting with the kids, truly enjoying himself just as much if not more than the kids.  He is extremely dependable and organized.  We feel very fortunate to have him as one of our volunteers.
