Ninth Grade Bio Students Study Body Systems

Wow!  So that’s how lungs work!

Ninth-grade SFJH students in Mrs. Emily Goates classes got to see first-hand how the repertory and circulatory systems work thanks to a set of pig lungs and a shop vac.

Mrs. Goats explains, “We’re studying body systems in biology and introduced the respiratory and circulatory system by looking at pig hearts and lungs. Yesterday we looked at the four chambers of the pig hearts and talked about blood flow between the heart, lungs, and the rest of the body. Today we talked about the structures of the respiratory system and inflated the lungs.”

Thanks for going the extra mile Mrs. Goates.
