The SFHS Girls Soccer Team roster this year included several girls from Spanish Fork Jr. High including Tracee Jones, Kayla Clark, Lily Ricks, Lavinia Naulu, Emma Runolfsen, Bayleigh Redd, Lindsey Blake, Sydney Berger, Maddie Haugen, and Brinley Maughan.

“My girls have been just magnificent all season,” said head coach Shane Ferrin. “They’ve fought hard; they’ve come together as a team and done some neat things.” (Herald Extra)

Maddie Haugen was a little afraid to try out as a freshman “because I was not sure if they would like me, but the other girls were extremely nice and always helped everyone to get better. It was as if there were no age gap at all between us because of how well we would treat each other. I think this helped us to get far and improve a lot as well as become widely recognized and supported. It is so much fun.”

Lindsey Blake said, “I played with some amazing girls over the season and was taught by some of the best coaches in the state. I feel very fortunate to represent Spanish Fork Soccer. As a soccer team at Spanish Fork High School, we made the goal to be united with one another. Our motto this year was ‘One Team, One Dream.’ It surprises me how this goal stuck throughout the season. We really did follow our dream as a team, and you can see that by looking at our success throughout the season.”

Lindsey’s advice? “My advice to any soccer players who are debating on whether to try out or not is to at least try. Trying can take you to new heights you never thought you could reach before.”
