Spanish Fork Junior High is known for having a superb Drama department.  Every year in the spring, the community is treated to wonderful musicals where student talent shines.

This year, as part of her thesis for her Master’s degree, Kristina Holley produced and directed a Fall musical called “She Loves Me,” a sweet romantic comedy with a book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and music by Jerry Bock.  Two clerks in cosmetic shop, Georg (Zac Kessinger) and Amalia (Sarah Mockett), compete to the point of despising each other.  They are unaware that after hours they’ve been carrying on an anonymous love affair though lonely heart ads.

The cast included Mockett and Kessinger in the leads with Adam Jenkins, Grayson Jenkins, Tramaine Lomax, Lucy Maurin, and Kai Smith in supporting roles.  The Ensemble included: Antoinio Cerna, Ari Whatcott, Bailey Bennett, Blaine Bartholomew, Brook Grant, Caleb Gould, Cambree Young, Cecily Udy, Emma Fox, Grace Forbush, Grace Hernandez, Lex Smith, Lily Seidel, and Taton Gilmore.  Stage managers Sara Gould and Rebecca Morales kept the show organized though all set changes.

Audiences loved the show.  I went closing night.  The cast was full of energy--you could tell they were having a great time.  And the audience appreciated it.  I took my SIL, a play aficionado, who couldn't stop talking about how good the production was.

Heather Mendonza commented, “I also went to see the play and it was a perfect performance to bring in the holiday.  I am so impressed and awed by the talent we have in this school.  Both the faculty and the students did an amazing job.  I can't wait to see the next production.”

Chris Thompson said, “It was so fun to gush over two of the leads who are in my third period class!  What talent and ambition it takes to put on such a great show. Kris, you never cease to amaze me.”

Finally, Allyson Brooks had this to say, “Yay!!! I went Thursday and loved it so much I brought my finance again Friday night. Thank you Kris, Kameron, Eric, Emily and so many others that were a part of the production. It was incredible!”
