If you had been over in the ‘B’ building earlier this month you would have noticed something kind of strange—there were preschoolers at Spanish Fork Junior High!  But don’t worry; our students aren’t getting younger.  The seventh graders in Mrs. Dobson’s College and Career Awareness class were holding a special two day preschool for their siblings.

The students were required to prepare activities preschool children would enjoy and learn from.  They planned a theme for the day and made sure each activity fit the developmental needs of children 3-5. Above all, it needed to be interactive and educational.

Students brought their little brothers, sisters, or cousins to school then taught and ran all activities.  According to Mrs. Dobson, “We had success with the number of preschoolers who attended our activity.”  Since C&CA classes rotate every term, all seventh graders will have the opportunity to participate in this learning experience.

Just another example of engaged learning at SFJH
