SFJH National Junior Honor Society Start the Year with Service

Spanish Fork Junior High has a very active chapter of the Nation Junior Honor Society.  They are part of an organization of over one million students in all fifty states whose goal is to excel in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.  NJHS is a service organization, ready and willing to help the community.  Our chapter adviser, Mr. Lawrence, already has our students serving.  Here is his report about their first service project on Saturday, August 27, 2016.

“We had the NJHS students here for a school beautification service project,” wrote Mr. Lawrence.  “We painted the two huge storage containers on campus, a pair of roll-up garage doors, and the 6 lunch line dividers.”

“As the adviser, I was there and we had the following staff members come and help too: Mr. Shane Hansen, Mr. Matt Christensen, Ms. Esther Zacharias, Ms. Amanda Rogers, and Mr. Garrett Johnson.”

“We had about 50 students volunteer on the first Saturday of the school year for this project.”

Mr. Lawrence estimates the group did about 120 service-man hours with this project.  Very cool NJHS!
