It’s the end of the school year, and SFJHS’s first ever AP Human Geography class has been a huge success. Students sat for the exam last Friday, but they won’t know their scores until July. One student commented, “I thought the exam was actually really fun. At the beginning of the year, it sounded really scary because I was not sure if I would be able to know everything for the exam, but Ms. Terry is the best teacher and I know everybody else in the class agrees, so, as the year went on, my stress level about the test went down. I hope I did really well, and I feel good about my answers.” Another student said, “The exam was moderately difficult. I think I did well for it being my first AP test!”

What do students learn about human geography? One student said, “I learned a lot of different aspects about how humans interact with their environment around them.” Another student said, “I have always grown up thinking that America was some sort of refuge to the world, and everyone was equal, but over the last year, I’ve learned about the U.S. from a new perspective.” Still another student commented, “There are many more problems going on in the world than we think. Developing countries face many problems to improve their living conditions and to become developed. I learned many new things this year and this class has prepared me for the future!”

Congratulations to this first year of students who willingly spent so much of their time to do well in this class. “Whether I pass or fail, I think I did the best I could have done, so I am going to be happy with my score no matter what.” Best of luck to all you of, AP Human Geography class of 2017-2018.
