SFJHS Boys Basketball Team Celebrates the End of the Regular Season

Submitted by david.thacker on

Recently the Spanish fork junior high basketball team met together to celebrate the end of the regular season at teammate Ammon Fifita’s house where they were able to eat some awesome Polynesian food. After Dinner the boys were treated to a surprise visit by BYU Quarterback Jake Heaps. Jake gave the boys some advice for their future, and encouraged them for their upcoming tournament this weekend.  Jake also talked about how excited he is about next year’s team that he has to play with.  One thing that both Spanish Fork Jr. High Coaches Jason Beardall Cory Morgan learned from Jake was his perspective about the difference between the words pressure and expectations.  Pressure is when you have not prepared yourself for a situation, and expectations are your coach’s desired results and you are comfortable about accomplishing them.  The players were so excited to spend the evening with Jake Heaps and get t-shirts signed and pictures taken with someone they look up to.  It was really nice that Jake took time out of his busy schedule to come and be with our team that night.  We all wish Jake the best of luck with his career and with his new fiancée Brooke.
