Parents, Students, and Friends –

It has been a great summer break - can you believe how quickly August is approaching? We want to welcome to the weekly newsletter all of the new 7th grade parents and students this year. We are looking forward to meeting the 400+ incoming students. Some parents have had older children go through our school and for other parents, your 7th grader is your first child to attend junior high. We are working to make this school year a great experience for ALL students. This newsletter contains general information and many links to our website that will help you to stay in touch with us. You will receive a weekly newsletter via email every Monday during the school year. The same information will be posted as a story on our school website at  http://sfjhs.nebo.edu/. We will also post daily school announcements that you can access by following the Announcements link on the upper right hand side of our home page.

7th Grade Immunization Requirements

To attend the 7th grade in Utah a student must have proof of receiving the Meningococcal vaccine and the Tetanus/Diptheria/Pertussis (Tdap) booster. The kindergarten Tdap does not count as the booster requirement for 7th grade. This is in addition to other immunizations which should have already been completed and on file (i.e. MMR, DTaP, Polio, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Varicella). You will not be able to attend 7th grade without the school having this information on file. Parents are asked to bring in or mail in a copy of the immunization document from the Health Department or doctor’s office as proof of required vaccinations. For more immunization information, go to Utah County Health Department.

Immunization Clinic at SFJHS

The Utah County Health Department will be holding an Immunization Clinic for all Nebo students on MONDAY, AUGUST 20TH in the SFJHS cafeteria. More details about the health department immunization services and insurance plans accepted is located at Utah County Health Department Immunization Information.

To apply for free or reduced lunch visit the Nebo District - Parent Home Page https://www.nebo.edu/parents and click on “Free & Reduced Lunch Information”.  Please do this as soon as possible so your student can receive free/reduced lunch on the first day.

Parent and Student Information

SFJHS has a parent and student information page that contains important pieces of information and web links on the school website. Go to http://sfjhs.nebo.edu/content/parent-and-student-information to see handy links to things you’ll need.

  • Student Handbook - Our teachers will cover many of the important rules and procedures we adhere to with students during the first week of school. This is a helpful tool for parents and students to refer to when they have questions about those rules and other items.

  • Social Media - Stay connected to our school and Nebo School District on social media. We will always send the most important information on ParentLink, but following us will give you a taste of what we are privileged to do everyday at school.

  • The Lobo Way - Our school has a vision and The Lobo Way is our guiding document to that vision. This is what we believe and how we want to be. We will be discussing these principles throughout our school year and using them to help us reach greater lengths and bigger goals.

  • Dress Code - please refer to the Nebo School District Dress Code Policy before making your back to school clothing purchases as some items have been changed recently. (Spanish Version)
