The Sophomore/Freshman Lady Dons soccer team consisted of 25 players - 12 of which were Freshmen from Spanish Fork Junior High: Ally Jones, Ashley Olsen, Bailey Pierce, Brooklyn Weight, Camryn Marshall, Delaney Hicks, Kate Fallon, Kaydenz Critchlow, Lucy Sloan, Miriam Pendleton, Julia Vasquez, and Olivia Irvine. Each of these girls brought unique talent and a positive attitude to the Lady Don’s Soccer Team. Our Season ended this past week with the conclusion of 8 wins and 5 losses. It was a very successful season for the team as well as the improvement of personal skill development.

The Lady Dons played a variety of different teams and even played some teams twice. Our games against Maple Mt., Salem Hills, and Wasatch were competitive and unpredictable of which team would come out with the win. We were asked by a few different schools if our Sophomore/Freshman team would play their JV teams such as ALA, Juab, and Waterford. We even played Alta who is a 5A school and won – at half time we were down 1-3, in the second half the Lady Dons fought hard for the win with the score finishing 5-3!

The coaches couldn’t have asked for a better group of girls to work with. Some of these Freshmen played on the JV team and some even received playing time on the varsity team. These 12 girls are very talented and possess a great amount of potential that will be exciting to watch develop over the next 3 years. As long as these girls continue to work as a team, continue to be positive on and off the bench, and work hard to improve individual skill at practice, they will bring to the Lady Dons Soccer Team next year and in the years to come. They have set a great standard for next year’s incoming freshmen.
