Spanish Fork Junior High FFA Goes to Utah State Fair

September 16th our school's FFA took a field trip to the Utah State Fair in Salt Lake City.  They got to see many animals including, goats, sheep, cows, bunnies, and the strangest animal of all; the emu.  The emu is the second largest bird in the world and comes from Australia.  Some members of FFA described it as looking like a large ostrich.

Besides looking at animals, there were carnival rides to experience, and souvenir shops where students could spend a little money.  There were also contests where students could take their animals to be judged.  After the judging, they could receive awards for their animals or sell them.

A few other interesting things were reported by students who attended.   “They had REALLY big funnel cakes,” Kenny VanAusdal tells us.

There was also a giant robot and a person who dressed up geese in different costumes.  Finally, there was an alligator that looked like it was glass.  Whether or not it was glass is still up for debate
