Student Council Attends Leadership Conference at Brighton High

Submitted by david.thacker on

On Saturday September 23rd, the student council woke up early to drive to Brighton High School in Cottonwood Heights for a special leadership conference. After arrival, they were sent into the auditorium along with 10-15 other student councils. At this meeting, a man in a wheel-chair gave an inspirational speech about always trying, even if things look bad, even if you might not be able to do the task.

They also went to other sessions where student body officers taught classes about how each member helps one another, communication skills, accepting everybody for who they are, and poster making. After attending four more sessions, they were treated to a delicious lunch served by Subway. By the time the council left, all of them felt more prepared to be great leaders.
