Mrs. Naomi Phillips’ UEI class recently participated in two special fieldtrips.  On May 5th, students attended the Nebo School District Superstars Track & Field Day at Maple Mountain High School.  A current students and a couple of next year's students got their picture in the Daily Herald!  (See article at this link:  http://www.heraldextra.com/news/local/education/precollegiate/special-needs-students-and-high-school-athletes-pair-up-for/article_f1415577-9b71-5e54-aa0c-f8b53c9350e8.html )  Another student is seen on the winners’ podium in a KSL news story!  (See YouTube video at this link:  https://www.facebook.com/sampenrod.ksl/videos/vb.151085561893214/274413472893755/?type=2&theater )

The other field trip was May 10th—the annual Kids’ Fishing Day at Salem Pond.  Mrs. Phillips reported, “We caught many trout, and we cooked them up and ate them when we came back to school that day.  We got our picture taken with Smokey The Bear.”

Thank you Mrs. Philips for sharing how students are engaged in many kinds of learning experiences here at SFJH.
