Teacher in the Spotlight

Do you know Mr. Bass? He is a science teacher for 8th and 9th graders and has been teaching here at SFJHS for 22 years. The Lobo Howl interviewed Mr. Bass, and discovered some cool facts.

One of the questions we asked was, “What is your most embarrassing teaching moment?” He replied, “I came to school and was teaching first period before I realized I was only in underwear.  Actually this was only a dream but the memory of that dream still scares me.”

When Mr. Bass was growing up he wanted to be a Bush Pilot and to this day still would like to be one. We asked what his first job was and he replied, “Wrangler and ‘Trail Boss’ at a girls camp when I was 15.  Yeah, that was fun.”

Mr. Bass loves the color BYU blue (and yes he is a BYU fan). His favorite movies are anything black & white and very spooky.  His favorite TV show is Malcolm in the Middle. He also loves Los Hermanos because he can get all the spicy fajitas he can eat.

We asked him who his hero is and he replied, “George Washington. What he did is unbelievable and nearly impossible.” His favorite quote is, “The true sign of intelligence is knowing how little you know.”

Mr. Bass is a great teacher and is enjoyed by many students. Be sure and thank him for all he does here at the school. Thanks Mr. Bass!
