Teachers Receive Over $900.00 in Books After Book Fair

The week of September 23rd to the 29th was our PTA book fair! For the first four days, the book fair was held in the library where students could go during pack time, before school, or after school to browse or buy. On the last day, it was moved to the lunchroom for the parent teacher conference. There were many books bought by students, and the most popular ones seemed to be Margaret Peterson's Found and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

Here are brief overviews of these books:

Found- Chip and Jonah were found on a plane full of infants with no adults. Soon they learned that they were part of uncovering the mystery of time travel and two forces both trying to repair the fabric of time.

The Hunger Games takes place in a futuristic setting where sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen lives in the nation of Panem. They have a very controlling Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts.  And to keep them all in line, they send one boy and one girl from each district to the hunger games. In these cruel trials you fight until death on live TV. Katniss regards her death sentence when she is forced to represent her district.

Many books were given to teachers to put in their classrooms. More than $900 worth of books were bought by all of the teachers.

More book fairs are coming in the future, so if you didn't get a chance to purchase anything, make sure you do next time! Special thanks to all of the members of the PTA for making this possible!
