A robed and bearded stranger was seen walking the halls of Spanish Fork Junior High this morning carrying boxes and boxes of cake. Curious students and faculty followed him into Mr. Travis Moss’ room. Interestingly enough, Mr. Moss was nowhere to be found, but the wise looking gentleman said that he was, indeed, a Wise Man, come from the East to bear good tidings and cake to all who would listen. He then proceeded to teach Señor. Moss’ Spanish students about “El Dia de Reyes” –Three Kings Day—which is the culmination of the twelve days of Christmas in many Latin American countries.
The “Rosca de Reyes” or King’s Cakes that he brought with him contained effigies of the baby Jesus. Sharing these with Señor. Moss’ classes, he explained the significance of this special day to all Spanish students.
Many students and faculty, however, are puzzled by this Wise Man’s appearance on campus, not to mention the fact that nobody seems to know where Señor Moss is. Could this be a special kind of substitute teacher? Is this a heavenly manifestation? And if today is Three Kings Day, where are the other two kings?
