Chain Reactions in 8th Grade Science
In Mr. Mortimer's class students have been discussing simple machines as well as kinetic and potential energy. To help students tie all these concepts together they created Rube Goldberg projects.

In Mr. Mortimer's class students have been discussing simple machines as well as kinetic and potential energy. To help students tie all these concepts together they created Rube Goldberg projects.
This year, BYU hosted an official Math Counts competition. Several schools in the district brought teams. The competition was open to 6-8 graders. We also saw teams there from Provo district and Alpine district as well. There were 75 kids that competed on Saturday Feb 5th. The first round is called the sprint round. It was an individual test with no calculator allowed, 30 problems in 40 minutes. The next round was two problems at a time for a few minutes.
Congratulations to all 9th grade Students of the Month! These students were nominated by one of their teachers because of the way they exemplify the Lobo Way. They consistently strengthen the Pack. They’ve learned to learn with passion and to forgive and accept. These students have found their voice.

The school Battle of the Books was held Wednesday, February 16th. Several students formed teams of 3-5 people. Each team had to read a combined number of 20 books. Each group read the same 20 books.
