Parents, Students and Friends –

Reminder - End of Second Term

Did you realize there are only eight school days left in this term after Christmas Break?  Please check with teachers to get any missing work gathered, completed and turned in. The holiday break provides extra time if needed, to make up school work that could help raise a grade.  Take advantage of the opportunity!

 Penny Wars

Way to go SFJHS - Penny Wars has now concluded and we can declare victory! As a school, we raised over $3,000 most of which will be officially presented to the Nebo Credit Union - Warm the Souls campaign during an assembly Thursday morning. Additionally, a small portion of the proceeds will pay for the NJHS humanitarian efforts to provide blankets to the Huntsman Cancer Institute for cancer patients. Our top five classes were as follows: Mr. Ferrin’s 2nd period class took 1st place by donating almost $500 while Mr. Water’s class took second place, Ms. Egbert’s class finished third, Ms. Rogers’ class came in fourth and Mrs. Nielson’s class rounded out the top five. Again, way to go Lobos!

 Lobos in Action

Way to go Geography Bee participants! In order to participate in the 29th annual National Geographic Bee, eighth graders had to pass a written test with a high qualifying score.  There were a very limited number of seats available for the entire eighth grade so being able to participate was a great accomplishment.  The following students qualified and participated in the school competition: Jack Carroll, McKenzie Whitney, Dallin Davis, Logan Larson, Nathan Smith, Jadyn Adair, Nicole James, Jack Beck, Marley Jensen, Ty Reese, Brad Stevens, Cael Erickson, Bo Murphy, Coye Burningham, Porter Hall, Cameron Campbell, Eva Lauritzen, McCade Davis, Parker Smith, Lindsey Blake, Thomas Rowley, Corbin Jensen, Ian Daley, Naomi Rawlins, Matthew Conway, Maddie Haugen, Xander Henry, Mason Dansie, Bruce Huntsman, Paige Nielsen, Ryan Davis, Jaqlyn Doty, Bryce Harman, Isaac Chappell. Our first place winner was Cameron Campbell, with Ian Daley finishing in Second Place and Naomi Rawlins finishing in Third Place.  Congratulations to our school finalists!
