THE LOBO WAY

When we USE MISTAKES AS A LEARNING OPPORTUNITY TO GROW AND IMPROVE. This is part of FORGIVE AND ACCEPT, the third part of our school’s vision. Everybody fails. What have you tried and failed at that helped you improve?  Come to the office and share your experience with Mr. Christensen, Mrs. LeMmon, or Mr. Mortensen for a small treat!

WANTED: CAREER PRESENTERS

We are looking for Career Presenters during Pack Time.  Students with no deficient grades have a choice of enrichment activities.  We would like to have one of those enrichment choices be a career presentation to help students be aware of the many career choices they have and be more informed as they make career choices.

The time is 9:35 to 10:05 Tuesday through Friday.  If you would be willing to present please contact Travis Palfreyman: travis.palfreyman [at] nebo.edu

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS LIGHTS ON EVENT - OCTOBER 29

Lights On is the only nationwide event celebrating after school programs and their important role in the lives of children, families, and communities. Lights On is designed to draw attention to the many ways afterschool programs support students by offering them opportunities to learn new things—such as science, community service, robotics, Tae Kwon Do and poetry, among others—and discover new skills. The events send a powerful message that millions more kids need quality afterschool programs.

Nebo School District is sponsoring its own Lights On event on OCTOBER 29, 2018 at 6:00PM at the ALC Building, 161 E 400 N in Salem. There will be lots of fun, games, and activities!

BOYS BASKETBALL INFORMATION MEETING LETTER

Thank you for your interest in being part of the Spanish Fork Jr. High Basketball Team.  Being a member of this team requires a serious commitment of both time and effort. Those who make the team will be required to attend practices and games every night after school for two to three hours.  The basketball season will begin the first full week of November and continue through the first week of February. If you make the team you will be expected to be at every practice and game. If you are not able to make this commitment, please do not try out.

In most cases, the Spanish Fork Jr. High Basketball Team follows the rules and regulations as outlined by the Utah High School Athletic Association.

Please read carefully the following rule regarding physical exams.

Utah High School Athletic Association new rule:

Physical exams are required before you will be allowed to try out.  If you do not have a physical exam turned into Coach Carlson before tryouts begin, you will not be allowed to try out.  No exceptions. The papers that need to be filled out by your doctor can be found at the following link http://sfjhs.nebo.edu/Athletics

The only form that needs to be filled out is the Pre-Participation Exam Form.  If you make the team you will be expected to fill out the other forms.

Grades

Utah High School Athletic Association states that a player on a sports team will maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average and have no more than one F to be able to participate.  Please work hard and keep your grades up.

Tryouts

Tryouts will begin on Monday Nov. 5th immediately after school in the boys gym and will continue every night until the team has been selected.  Please do not schedule anything at this time. You will need to be at tryouts.

I look forward to another awesome basketball season.  If you have any questions please contact me at alec.carlson [at] nebo.edu (alec[dot]carlson[at]nebo[dot]edu)

Thank you, Coach Carlson
