Parents, Students, and Friends -

HOPE WEEK

WHAT IS A HOPE SQUAD?
HOPE Squads are the eyes and ears of our  school. They are comprised of students who are trained to watch for at-risk students–provide friendship, identify warning signs, and seek help from adults.

WHAT IS HOPE WEEK?

HOPE WEEK is a time to raise awareness about HOPE squad and what they do. Throughout the week students are given opportunities to forge new friendships and combat feelings of loneliness or isolation.

This week we have themed days and teacher lessons as well as a Friday assembly. The themes for each day are:

Tuesday: Hat Day

Wednesday: Rock and Roll T-shirt Day

Thursday: Lobo Shirt Day

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

Fun and exciting things are happening in AfterSchool Clubs.  If you are interested in learning about 3-D Printing, come to STEM Club on Wednesdays.  We also have an Anime Club starting Thursday, Jan. 17th. See Mrs. Phillips or Mrs. Green about registration for clubs.

BROADWAY MUSICAL REVIEW AUDITIONS

Have you ever wanted to show off? To show everyone what a great performer you are? Well here’s your chance. Next week, we’ll be having auditions for the school Broadway musical review. This is an excellent opportunity for students to get involved and perform! Every student in this school has the opportunity to audition for this fun, energetic show. We need singers and dancers. You don’t need to be a pro in either area to be cast in the play.
There will be a dance workshop on Tuesday, January 22nd, after school in the little theater. This workshop is designed for those who aren’t the best dancers so they can learn the audition piece with enough time to work on it before the dance audition.
The musical audition will be Wednesday, January 23rd. Feel free to prepare 16 measures of any musical song you’d like.
The dance audition will be Thursday, January 24th. Please wear danceable clothes and no skinny jeans.
The call-backs for leads will be held on Friday, January 25th.
Come join the fun at auditions for this fabulous musical. If you have any questions, ask Miss Holley. There is a permission letter in Miss Holley’s room, #37, that you need to pick up BEFORE the auditions.

MOMENTUM FIELD TRIP
We will be going on a field trip to Momentum Climbing on Wednesday, January 31st. If you are interested in going, you need to attend a meeting on Wednesday morning, January 16th, at 7:40 am in room 28, Mrs. Kay, the health teacher’s, room. The price is $10. The first 60 students to pay in the front office will be allowed to go. If you miss the meeting, speak with Mrs. Kay to get the necessary information.
