BOOK FAIR CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

SFJHS PTA is holding its second book fair this year from February 18-21 and we are looking for volunteers. The book fair is open one hour before school, during lunch, and an hour after school as well as during parent teacher conferences. This is always a fun time for the students because so many good things happen besides just books! If you can volunteer, we need you! YEARLY STAKEHOLDER SURVEY

Parents and students will receive an email THE FIRST WEEK IN FEBRUARY that includes a link and instructions to access the Nebo School District yearly stakeholder survey. Parents will receive a reusable link to the email address found in Aspire.

Students will receive a reusable link to the student email address found in Aspire. The general link can also be found on the front page of the Nebo School District website under Announcements. The purpose of the survey is to provide feedback to teachers, administrators, and other school personnel. We value your input. The survey will be open until February 28, 2020 and we encourage your participation.

JOB SHADOW DAY

Job Shadow Day for all 7th graders will be Friday, February 7th. Students will have an assignment to complete for points that day that will be due the following Monday, February 10th. Contact College and Career Awareness Teachers with any questions.

NEBO CHESS TOURNAMENT

Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm approximately at the Summit Center 165 S. 700 E. Springville. Please park on east side of building. Arrive at 8:30 am, instructions at 8:45 am. There will be 5 or 6 rounds—all students get to play all rounds.

K-6 students get to play others within their own grade. Jr. High students will be grouped together into one section. High School students will be grouped together into one section. 9th grade will join either Jr. High or High School based on numbers. Rounds are up to 50 minutes each (i.e. approximately 25 minutes per player). Grades 7-12 may be allowed up to 60 minutes each. Plan on students finishing last round between 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm.

Register and pay at nebo.revtrak.net, Nebo District Programs. Cost is $10.00 if you register and pay by Feb 22, or $17 thereafter. Registration accepted only through Thursday, Feb 27— no registration or payment accepted at the door. Students must be in Nebo School District boundaries, whether attending public, charter, or home school, or have played in the Nebo chess tournament. Supervision of children is the responsibility of the parents. Parents and other spectators may not interact with players while they are competing.
