The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. Anyone anywhere can organize an Hour of Code event. One-hour tutorials are available in over 40 languages. No experience needed. Ages 4 to 104.

All this week, 191,000 organizers are leading schools and events worldwide. Students are given the opportunity to learn to code with Minecraft, Star Wars, or another fun, one-hour tutorials. There are 50 options for every age, experience-level, and device.

Mr. Thacker’s computer students began the advanced course on code.org as part of the state curriculum.  Most of his students really enjoy the activities because it offers a way to see how coding works in the real world.

Coding is important because it is everywhere. As the world becomes more technical, jobs that require coding skills will become more common and those with skills will be in high demand.
