Orchestra Goes Recruiting

Submitted by david.thacker on

On February 20, the Spanish Fork Junior High beginning orchestra class traveled to four elementary schools throughout the day. This is an annual trip the beginning orchestra class takes to tell the sixth graders to join orchestra, especially since registration is going on now. Some of the music played were from movies such as Jurassic Park and Pirates of the Caribbean. A few of the students decided to play solos and did pieces from popular video games, movies, and even The Office! They played amazing, and Mrs. Harman, the SFJH orchestra teacher thinks so.

Greek Valentines

Submitted by david.thacker on

For the last, week Mrs. Harmer’s 9th grade World Civilizations class has been learning about the Ancient Greeks and their mythology. So, they thought they’d have some fun and create some “punny” Valentine’s about Greek Gods and Goddesses.

The kids had a lot of fun think of these and recalling information they’ve learned about each god or goddess.

On March 4th, the High School Counselors will be hosting a Freshman Registration Parent Night. This will be held at SF JUNIOR HIGH in the Little Theater from 6:30-7:30 PM.  We will be covering information regarding the registration process, online schedule changes, graduation requirements, and the many options your student will have available to them in High School.  This is an excellent opportunity for parents with first-time high school students or any parents that have registration questions.

Band Goes Recruiting

Submitted by david.thacker on

On Tuesday, February 19, 2019, the Spanish Fork Jr. High beginner band went on a recruiting trip. On that trip, they played music for sixth graders at three different elementary schools. Some band students volunteered to play a solo in front of the audience at the schools to show them what their specific instrument could do. At each school, the band went into the gym, set up their instruments, warmed up, then performed. The band did an excellent job and should expect many new students from these elementary schools next year.
