Student Council and Honor Society Attend Leadership Conference

On Saturday, September 8, members of the SFJHS Student Council and Honor Society woke up before sunrise and traveled to Sandy to attend the Utah Association of Student Councils Leadership Conference. These students attended different workshops to learn new ways to become leaders in their school and increase student involvement. The breakout sessions were focused on being unique, facing challenges, getting the word out, and spectacular assemblies. The students returned with a lot of great ideas and are excited to share them at SFJHS! Thank you to the advisers Mrs.

Advanced PE Golfers Play in the Zone

What a fun week of golf in the Advanced PE Class! But, after it was all said and done, only one golfer could stand at the top.

Max Murray shot our low score on our individual course.  Congratulations!

Max Murray, Easton Jorgensen and Javin Davis shot the low score in our scramble tournament, shooting 7 under par!  Good work, gentlemen.

AP Students Build the World

Recently, my AP Human Geography class was challenged to "Build the World." 

They were given 135 mixed-up pieces of a HUGE world map and challenged to put it together as quickly as they could.  It took them 20 minutes and they had to rotate it once to fit it into the hall, but they managed to work together as a group and get it done.

SFJH Golf Team Looks to Have Bright Future

Earlier this week, the Spanish Fork Junior High golf team found itself at Spanish Oaks Golf Course competing against other junior high teams in the district.
 
Prior to the game, this reporter caught a bit of Coach Nate Bartholomew's pregame pep-talk.  While the video doesn't show much of the in depth strategizing,  golfers were intent on listening to Coach's plans for the game.

Flag Football

After a long hard week of Flag Football in Advanced PE the team Fro-Men came out victorious!  They were able to outlast a vicious 'Merica team in the Championship game.  The winners were awarded a Hi-Chew!
