District Poetry Slam
On May 10, the Spanish Fork Junior High school Poetry Slam winners went to Salem to compete in the District Poetry Slam. Ten poets from each school competed in the Poetry Slam adding up to a total of 41. The kids in our school were Corbin Jensen, Madyson Lott, Cambree Oyler, Aeris Eastland, Maddie Haugen, Holley Larsen, Joey Moleff, Sam Whitaker, Makenna Wilkinson, and Tanner Fraser. As the competition began there was a lot of excitement and a little bit of nervousness as each contestant went up.
NJHS Field Trip
Members of the Spanish Fork Jr. High chapter of National Junior Honor Society participated in a service learning field trip to the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah. Seven of our seventy members made the trip with blankets the students made. We delivered no-tie fleece blankets for chemotherapy graduates. The volunteer coordinator gave the group a quick tour of the facility. We are honored to help with this great service and look forward to making more blankets next year. If you would like to help sponsor this service, please contact the advisor, Mr.

Drama I Class Plays!
Last Thursday Drama I performed their class plays that they have been working so hard on. It was a huge success! The audience loved the three fairy tale remakes: The Fairy Godmothers, where the Fairy Godmother is leaving for vacation, leaving her assistant in charge. Snowee White and the Seven Chicks, where rockstar Snowee White needs money and fame, but his uncle dies and that changes everything.
