Please be aware that report cards and Honor Roll Certificates for 1st term were sent home with students today.

Tracing Their Ancestors

The United States History Honors class traced their ancestors to those who first arrived in America.  They created a ancestry tree and cards with the country of origin information.  A team of very creative students made a display of their project outside their history classroom.

Solution A:  You and Bella (2 min) + You go back (1 min) + Carlos and Arnie go (8 min) + Bella back (2 min) + You and Bella (2 min) = 15 min ( 1 min to spare)
Solution B:  You and Bella (2 min) + You go back (1 min) + You and Carols (3 min) + You go back ( 1 min) + You and Arnie ( 8 min) = 15 min (1 min to spare)

Reflections Winners Announced

The National PTA sponsors a program called Reflections that is for students in all grades and of all abilities to be involved in the arts.

 Annually, thousands of students will reflect on a common theme and create original works of art in the categories of Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts. This year the theme was: "The World Would Be a Better Place If....."

Spook-tacular Writing Submitted to 5th Annual SFJH Zombie Haiku Contest

Mr. Anson’s 9th grade Honors English students had a tough time choosing winners from all the terrifyingly terrific submissions to this year's Zombie Haiku Contest.  Hundreds of poems were submitted by both students and teachers.  This year’s contest even featured poems written by Mr. Moss’s intermediate and advanced Spanish students--in Español.

9th Grade Basketball Team

Tryouts for both the girls and boys 9th grade basketball team will be held, starting Monday, November 10th. There will be an informational meeting for all interested 9th grade students on Thursday, Nov. 6th afterschool in the gym.  If you have any questions or concerns contact Coach Beyer or Coach Johnson.
