Play with a pro at Spanish Fork Jr. High!

Submitted by david.thacker on

“Strike up the band!” seems to be the Spanish Fork Junior High Band’s motto.  Filled with energy and enthusiasm, SFJH band students have been practicing and performing with purpose and determination, honing their craft and striving for excellence.  Here’s what they’ve accomplished so far this year.

This past July SFJH students attended Summer Band Camp. Students from four different schools in Nebo district got together and performed for Pioneer Day at the Spanish Fork City Park then got together afterwards for a BBQ hosted by parent volunteers.

Lobo Leadership

Submitted by david.thacker on

The lobo leadership class is always looking for ways to improve themselves and the school around them. Recently they had a lesson about Habit 1 from The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey.  They are learning the differences between "proactive" and "reactive." They discovered that while reactive traits make cool soda rockets, proactive traits are much more pleasant to have when it comes to interacting with people.

Spirit Week Concluded

Submitted by david.thacker on

Friday, the final day of Spirit Week, was set aside as Sports Spirit Day.  Students dressed either in their favorite team’s jersey or in the gear for their favorite sport.

As you can imagine, because it was rivalry week between BYU and the U of U, many students were dressed in either blue or red.  Pro football, baseball, and basketball jerseys added to the mix.
