The Lobo Howl had the opportunity to talk to some of our schools lunch staff, and were able to find the inside scoop on our school lunch. When asked what their favorite meals are to serve, they answered rice bowls. Did you know our school serves three different kinds of rice bowls? At lunch they rotate through Sweet and Sour chicken, Mandarin Orange chicken, and Teriyaki chicken. They sometimes will even serve fortune cookies and/or egg rolls to go along with them.

Our 4H students got to show off all of their hard work at the 4H Showcase, Thursday the 17th. It started at 7 pm and all of the parents were seated for an introduction including the 4H pledge. A few groups from the Shakespeare team performed at the beginning. Then, their students took them to their separate 4H classes—Incredible Edibles, Crafty Critters, All Around Sports, 3D Computer Arts, Lobo Den Games and Creative Calendars—where they did a few different activities.

Last Tuesday, November 15, Ms. Holley took students from her drama 1 classes and the Shakespeare team to Salem Hills’ production of Fiddler on the Roof. It was about two hours long and was very well done.

Lady Lobos—Did you hear about this years Lobo girl's basketball team? Try-outs have come to an end, and the team has been announced. Your 2011-2012 girls basketball players are: Devri Adams, Haleigh Barber, Rachel Critchfield, Kenzi Hancock, Nicole Hair, Dacia Johnson, Sephra Konchar, Summer Lytle, Sydni Mitchell, Alex Oveson, Sydnie Peterson, and Cheyenne Pratt. These girls have shown an outstanding performance in offensive and defensive positions, shooting, dribbling, and speed.

Congratulations to Mr. Ferrin! He has been awarded Faculty Teacher of the Month for November. There were quite a few amazing nominations sent in for him. Here they are:

Congratulations to this year's Patriotic Art Contest winners. 1st place: Jackson Lundell, 2nd place: Laura Mullins, and 3rd place: Nathan Goodman. They all did a great job and were able to win some money as well. Jackson won $25.00, Laura and Nathan both won $10.00. There were also two honorable mentions, these were by Hailey Boggess and Carol Miner.

Brylee Ivers and Mckenna Davis both said that they were astonished by the amazing work done this year.

Red Ribbon week kicked off with Wear Red Day. Anyone who wore red got a piece of candy at pack time. Tuesday was the pie eating contest at lunch. Mr. Bartholomew won in first lunch and Mr. Bake won second lunch. Wednesday was the time for you to choose a healthy lunch from the cafeteria. Thursday during pack time we worked on Anti-drug essays and posters then on Friday Mrs Seegmiller gave out awards for those winners. Winners of the posters were 1st: Kristin Harris 2nd: Kourtney Beus and Maran Wilson. 3rd: Becca Fabis. All those winners were girls from eighth grade.

There are only a few words to describe our school's band. Incredible, Thrilling, and Rhapsody. On Thursday November 10th, the school's band had the privilege of performing with Spanish Fork High's band. At the beginning, the high school did a few pieces, but then they combined with the 9th graders for a song from The Incredibles, “The Incredibles Theme”. Afterwards they called up the 8th graders to perform “Bella's Lullaby” from the popular book and movie series Twilight, it the song which was created to be played on the piano but was soon changed so all instruments could do it.

“Is food good to eat when you drop it on the ground?” the most asked question in the know universe. After research, food that is dropped is immediately clung to by bacteria cells, but will it contain enough bacteria to make you sick? It might—but it is still best to not eat it.

Faster is better the faster you pull it off the ground the less bacteria on the food, but sometimes

It's Junior High... Do you need to change? No way! What were you like in grade school? Shy and scared, loud and intimidating, Confident or self conscious? Show this school who you truly are! Don't change because you feel left out.
