On November 30, 2022 Spanish Fork Junior High had the honor of hosting renowned YA author Neal Shusterman. Prior to his visit, our English teachers encouraged students to read one of his many novels in preparation for the schoolwide Q&A assembly and book signing. As part of the Gleanings Tour promotion, students and faculty were able to purchase Shustrman's latest book in the Scythe series on its release date, November 8. Additional books were purchased for the school and classroom libraries thanks to a grant from the Nebo Foundation, the SFJHS PTA, and The King's English Bookstore in Salt Lake which offered the books at a generously discounted rate.
The English Department at SFJHS would like to thank all of the sponsors and faculty members who made this event possible, the school's administration for working out the unique scheduling logistics, our students for their enlightening questions, and of course, Mr. Shusterman!
