Students in Ms. Kayla Duckworth’s Foods 1 Class have been practicing their knife skills.  Take a look at the examples of different techniques in the pictures.  Chop, dice, mince, slice, julienne—so many skills to learn.  Each cut, each technique has a very specific use.  “Students are putting into practice their knife skills by chopping, slicing, dicing and mincing their vegetables to use in a ramen noodle stir fry,” explained Ms. Duckworth.  “In addition to using kitchen tools correctly, students are demonstrating their understanding of kitchen safety and food safety skills.”

Good work, chefs!
